Iron Entry uses 14 gauge steel
There is very little maintenance that needs to be done on an iron door. Keeping the door clean is as simple as using a wet rag to wipe dust off of the surface of the door. There are grease zerks on the hinges of the door which will require a small amount of white lithium grease every 4-5 years.
Lead time on in stock doors is 3-4 weeks. Lead time on custom doors is 12-16 weeks.
All of our stock doors are prepared with the following specs.
-Double bore tubular entry set
– 2-3/8″ backset
-2-1/2″ thick door slab
EMTEK hardware is what is recommended on our doors. They have an extension kit that can be ordered with the hardware that fits our doors well.
Our custom doors can be prepared to any hardware prep as long as measurements can be provided.
Iron Entry provides installation instructions with your door as well as on our website. A local trim carpenter or contractor armed with these instructions should be able to handle the installation easily. We always encourage an installer that has questions to call and ask one of our experts.
Iron Entry ships its doors through a freight carrier. We take every precaution to ensure your door is delivered safely. Door panels are packaged separate from the frame. All pieces are protected by a wood crate. The crates are attached to a heavy duty pallet. The picture to the left shows how a single door unit is crated and the picture to the right show a crate for a double door unit.
